info
Justin was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, the child of a French-American father and Hawaiian-Japanese mother. His love for image making began at early age when he was gifted his father’s old 35mm Nikon F - a camera he still owns to this day.
After studying biology and art history at Georgetown University where he graduated with honors, he moved to NYC, where he completed a master’s degree in art history at NYU and began a stint writing/editing for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Justin soon transitioned to working in fashion photography, and before long was traveling the world, assisting and learning from some of the industry’s leading photographers including Stephane Sednaoui, Nick Knight, Bruce Weber, and Stewart Shining.
Due to his multi-cultural upbringing, his view of art is that of a way to bring people together - to span the divide, to bridge the gap. Art as a way to reflect that which is in all people, that which is universal - beauty, vulnerability, humor, grace.
Justin’s easy-going and friendly vibe on set lets his subjects feel at ease, allowing him to capture those “decisive moments” that evoke our shared humanity.
Justin is based in NYC and available for assignment worldwide. Clients include J.Crew, Target, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Eileen Fisher, Michael Kors, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Lafayette148, E.L.F. Cosmetics, Puma, Soulcycle, MarcellaNYC.
